Who We Are
Karen Christensen Skin, Hair & Beauty was established in the year 2000. We have two sites in Somerset, both in beautiful heritage buildings, each with an established team of therapists and hairdressers who are all highly skilled and educated to an advanced level.
Our mission is to create sustainable, vegan friendly services and treatments where we can. Karen, our founder, and the therapists that work alongside her, have a passion for skin. We are problem solving and try to achieve the best possible results for all our clients.
We are forever learning new techniques and evolving as new technologies revolutionise hair and beauty styling and treatments. We take great care in choosing the best result driven products, which not only look after you and are also kind to the environment.
We believe in personal development within our team and enjoy watching them grow within our beautiful buildings.
We strive to make everyone’s salon experience as wonderful as possible. We hope our guests feel relaxed in our friendly atmosphere and just have fun!

They formulate without: Animal derived ingredients, parabens, mineral oil, petrolatum, paraffin, formaldehyde and its donors, SLES, oxybenzone, benzene, retinyl palmitate, microcrystalline wax, polyethelene beads, triclosan, triclocarban, talc or synthetic fragrance.
Their haircare formulas are 90% naturally derived on average.

Aveda has been caring for the world and its inhabitants since 1978. To date, their guests, artists, employees and leaders have raised over $69M to help fund environmental initiatives globally.
They have partnered with charity: water to provide clean water access, sanitation and hygiene to communities in India, Nepal, and Madagascar – all countries where they source ingredients.
